Hi Brenda, Michael, Nigel, Clive and Christopher.
Here is some film of when we holidayed together 54 years ago! Enjoy
Great job, John! Was it just a million years ago? Happy, happy days! So good to see Uncle Jack’s smiling face again after so many years. What a kind and friendly man he was. Such a shame there is so little footage of Dad… the inevitable fate of the cameraman, I guess. Cheers, brother.
Hi Richard – I’m working on one for our family now with the obvious focus of dear Mum. It’s a nice way of collecting up all those photos and films from various sources and making them more accessible and viewable. It all goes in my ‘mortality diary’ as well! Yes I said to Romy yesterday, that as far as I am aware, the B/W cine of Dad walking with Mum and Aunty Brenda along the prom is the only moving image we have of him to show the kids. Cheers Richard
You have done a brilliant job. It was a real family expedition – all the cousins, mums and dads. Isn’t it great too from a “social history” point of you to remember what Britain was like in the early 60s and what life was like.
Yes indeed and to that end I thought I’d include the steam engine, pedal floats and the scenes of a typical British seaside holiday. Good luck Michael on the elections coming up. John
